  2.  This CD-ROM contains one-minute values of geomagnetic data                      
  3.  from all magnetic observatories of the USGS network for the                     
  4.  years 1985-1989.  The one-minute values are provided as                         
  5.  3-component vector data (Horizontal Intensity, Vertical                         
  6.  Intensity, and Declination) from a fluxgate magnetometer,                       
  7.  as well as scalar data (Total Intensity) from a proton                          
  8.  precession magnetometer.  The database contains geomagnetic                     
  9.  values for two of the largest magnetic storms ever recorded.                    
  10.  The capability also exists to write data files from the                         
  11.  CD-ROM to a hard drive or floppy disk in NGIC or World Data                     
  12.  Center-A ASCII formats.
